Advanced Architecture Class Presents Competing Plans to Modernize Kennedy's Main Entrance

Kennedy SkillsUSA Design students presented 5 unique design proposals to the LAUSD Facilities Services Division to modernize Kennedy’s Main Entrance. Components from each teams design will be incorporated into the final design concept. The ideas include: trees planted along the sidewalk; a large, terrazzo Kennedy Cougar logo inset into the concrete; a raised seating area; a sail-shaped shade devices; and a tile wall showcasing Kennedy’s unique programs.

Preschool Enrollment Now Open for Kennedy's Cubs: Open to Children 2½-5 Years Old

Kennedy High School’s Careers With Children class provides a campus preschool. The children are under the supervision of one adult and twenty or more high school students who are enrolled in the Careers With Children class.
When: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Hours: 10:30am– 12:10 pm.
Who: Children ages 2½-5 years old (must be potty trained)
Fees: $20 registration and monthly tuition $20

Architecture/Digital Design/Filmmaking Magnet Student Valeria Berrospid Wins Ryman Arts Award

This award is a two-year scholarship entitling Valeria to attend advanced art classes in drawing and painting. The classes, which are led by master art teachers, allow her to attend while still in high school. Valeria will also receive free art supplies for 2 years, attend fabulous art related field trips, and attend lectures given by an impressive roster of guest speakers in the art field.

Kennedy Wall of Fame Honors Distinguished Alumni, Teachers, Coaches, and Staff

Kennedy unveiled the Wall of Fame to recognize notable alumni and staff serving 20 plus years on Thursday, June 8. Former City Councilwoman and City Controller Wendy Greuel, former NFL Patriot Dion Lambert, and former Angels baseball player Garret Anderson were present. Current and retired staff members reminisced Kennedy’s beginnings as an integrated campus in the era of busing.
