Curriculum



Every attempt will be made to provide each student with programs that meet their academic needs and fulfill the requirements of colleges and universities in California and throughout the United States.

The designated magnet courses will be taught by teaching professionals who are committed to an interdisciplinary approach to instruction. Students, in addition to learning the skills and background in the field of architecture will also be given projects to work on which introduce them to the field of urban planning and the exciting possibilities of creating and changing environments which are beneficial to cultural harmony as well as individual convenience and comfort.

The academic and job-related skills emphasized in this program will be critical thinking, print and electronic literacy, writing, visual presentation (speaking), and collaboration.

Choices made in upper grades depend on students' college plans and interests. A required course in Health should be taken in summer school. An additional fine art course should be taken by architecture and television production students. Computer graphics and photography meet the fine art requirements.
