Magnet Vision and Mission Statements

Magnet Vision
We envision a curriculum that is academic,
rigorous, and interdisciplinary. We incorporate applied methods of
learning in three strands: Architecture, Digital Arts, and Film
Production, which foster the development of creativity and problem
solving in these technical arts fields.
Magnet Mission Statement
The
mission of Kennedy High School’s Architecture, Digital Arts and Film
Production Magnet is to create a community of learners who will be
prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century in their chosen
career paths. Our mission emphasizes quality of work, high ethical
standards, superior work skills, life-long education, integrity, and
pride in the dignity of work.
- Students will engage in challenging curriculum to foster their personal and academic growth
- Teachers will provide a rigorous and interdisciplinary program in the technical arts-Architecture, Digital Arts, and Filmmaking
- Students will be able to work both independently and collaboratively as contributing members of a global society
- Teachers will foster a school climate that supports diversity and treats all with dignity
- Parents and students will work in partnership with the school to ensure a successful learning experience
- Teachers will provide field-based and hands-on learning experiences
- Students will be prepared for further education upon graduation from high school
- Students will graduate into society as innovative learners who value integrity and respect diversity
- Teachers will be dedicated to the development of each student as an individual with creative and academic potential
- Students, teachers, and parents will work together to pursue excellence
