School for Advanced Studies
The John F. Kennedy School for Advanced Studies offers a rigorous college preparatory
curriculum with enriching instruction. The classrooms utilize instructional strategies
and learning experiences designed for highly motivated learners. SAS students
have the choice to enroll in honors or college level advanced placement classes.
The SAS curriculum is designed to prepare students for entrance to the University
of California and private schools. Students graduating from the Kennedy honors/
AP program have been competitive with students throughout the district, and top
students have been accepted to U.C Berkeley, U.C San Diego, U.C Santa Barbara,
UCLA, Caltech, and MIT.Teachers
The SAS counselor and college counselor provide advisement to insure that students are prepared to meet their post-secondary goals.
School for Advanced Studies Schedule
Advanced Placement classes are college level classes in which the curriculum is determined by the College Board. Students are encouraged to take the Spring AP exams to qualify them for college credit.
