Freshman Transition Program
(Smaller Learning Communities Program)

The Freshman Transition Program at Kennedy High School is designed to begin building a smaller community atmosphere within our larger school. This program is designed to transform the existing high school structure. Some of the programs at Kennedy funded by the Freshman Academy include:
  • Link Crew-student mentors

  • Most academic core classes are located in Building K

  • Freshman Counselor and Assistant Principal are also located in Building K

  • Students grades, attendance, and behavior are closely monitored to ensure success

  • Teacher and staff work together collaboratively to transition students into High School
If you have any questions about the variety of services offered by the Freshman Academy, stop by the office located in K102.
