Freshman Transition Program
(Smaller Learning Communities Program)

The Freshman Transition Program at Kennedy High School is designed to begin building a smaller community atmosphere within our larger school. This program is part of a federally funded grant that seeks to reform the existing high school structure. Some of the programs at Kennedy funded by the FTP include:
  • Link Crew-student mentors

  • the 9th Grade Tutoring Center

  • curriculum for the Life Skills classes

  • the Peace Academy to name a few

  • teacher support and staff development

We also work with the Title 1 office and the Parent Center. If you have any questions about the variety of services offered by the SLCP stop by the office located in the Library.
