The Multilingual Teacher Career Academy
The MTCA provides a small school environment for students who wish to explore careers in teaching, child care, and in particular, language teaching. Students in MTCA are good role models for other students. Students will take a college preparatory curriculum such as: four years of English, three years of foreign language, four years of math, four years of science, three years of social studies, child development, and exploratory teacher training hands-on experience.

The following are some activities available to MTCA students:
  • Peer Tutoring
  • Community Service
  • Interaction with children
  • Community colleges and university
  • Reservation Center
  • Field Trips
Many MTCA students are enrolled in Mrs. Hardy’s Child Care Class. They learn skills to become preschool aide or teachers. Students can earn a certificate indicating over 300 hours of work with the young child.

Requirements:
Students must maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA and must not have more than 2 “U”s in both work habit and cooperation during the last eight semesters.
