Like most of my students, I was born and raised in the Valley. I attended Kester Elementary School, Van Nuys Junior High School, and Van Nuys High School. After graduating in 1992, I attended a series of junior colleges throughout Southern California and participated in a study abroad program in Cambridge, England in 1994-1995 as well as a work abroad in London in 1997. I changed majors often until finally settling on history when I transferred to UCLA in 1998. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2000, I worked as a studio photographer until earning my teaching credential from CSUN in 2003. I began teaching 6th, 7th & 8th grade history at Portola Middle School where I met and later married my husband. After a brief time teaching 10th and 11th grade history at Monroe High School, I joined my father's former department here at Kennedy High. This is my 15th year teaching for Los Angeles Unified School District. My husband and I have 10 1/2 year old twin girls.
