Amber Allen and Brenda Jaramillo's PSA "Mean Little Thoughts" won 1st place in the LA Region of the Directing Change PSA contest. They took home $500 and advanced to the statewide competition.
Steve Chilian and Sergio Serrato's PSA "Red Flag" won 2nd place and $250.
Andres Rodriguez & Dalene Solis' PSA "Never Alone" and Daniel Molina & Marvin Galdamez's PSA "Help" won Honorable Mentions.
In 4 years of competing in the Directing Change PSA contest Kennedy Filmmakers have won $1000. 
 
Julia Tocher and Stephannie Moreno's film "Sewn Into the Stars" won a gold medal at the SkillsUSA Region 3 competition. It has also been selected to screen at the LA Student Film Festival, CineStudent Film Festival (Illinois), and will represent Kennedy High School at the 3rd Annual LAUSD Student Film Festival at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills.
 
Nine 2nd year (11th grade) filmmakers earned PAID internships at a variety of media companies around Los Angeles for the summer of 2017.
 
 
At the 2016 State SkillUSA Competition, the following students won awards and advanced to the National level to represent California. They took home 2nd place in Louisville, KY. This was the first time California won a medal in this competition:
Television Production: Gold Medal State Competition & Silver Medal National Competition - Samantha Crende and Jerry Cerda
 
Samantha Crende and Jerry Cerda's PSA "Know the Signs" won Best PSA at the California Student Media Festival.

2013 California State Skills USA Competition in San Diego:

Three gold medals in American Spirit awarded to Emily Cardenas, Alexa Aburto, and Sandeep Sagoo.
One gold medal in Prepared Speech awarded to Alexa Aburta.
Two silver medals in Digital Cinema Production awarded to Jachelle Abad and Patricia Cruz.
One bronze medal in Expemporaneous Speaking awarded to Maricruz Delgadillo.
Four bronze medals in Broadcast News awarded to Evelyn Hernandez, Casey Ticsay, Jackeline Vega, and Marissa Ramirez.

Summer 2013:
Jose Muro received a four week summer scholarship to the New York Film Academy, and Alejandro Gomez won a 1 week scholarship. This allowed them to receive privileges of filming on the Universal Studios backlot.
